Selling second hand clothes

Did you know that you can sell your second-hand clothes with us? Clean out your closet and come sell your old clothes!

This is how it works:

You can bring your women's and men's clothing (children's clothing conditions at the bottom of the page) at any time that Second hand by things is open. The minimum contribution is 5 items. Bring the clothing items in a sturdy bag and leave your name, telephone number/email and account number. The clothing will be checked and selected immediately, if there is time for it. Clothing that is suitable will remain in our store for 8 weeks*, for a price that we determine. The price can be adjusted up or down in the meantime. If the item is sold, you will receive 30% of the proceeds. If the item is not sold during this period, you can choose to collect your clothing or donate it. Donated clothing is given a nice final destination by us.

Bring in children's clothing

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I think one of the most asked questions in the past year is 'do you also have children's clothing?'. Every time I responded with 'I would love to but we don't have the space'. After a while of brainstorming we came to the conclusion that we can transform a small part of our store into a children's corner. ✨

Almost the same conditions apply here as for bringing in women's and men's clothing.

Terms & Conditions

• Because we have very little space, only branded clothing can be brought in.
• Children's clothing in sizes 74/80 to 164/170
• Washed and fresh smelling clothing without damage. Think of no missing buttons, pulls and holes. Clothing with smoke and pet hair and/or smell, we do not accept.
• Clothing appropriate for the season. Keep an eye on our homepage for the announcement of the new season's input.
• No underwear and/or swimwear.
• Please note, we no longer accept summer clothes!

NB: At the moment, a lot of clothing is coming in. You can still bring in clothing. But there is a short waiting period (+/- 2 weeks). You will hear from us how long this is at the moment of bringing in.

Come donate

It's great that you want to donate your used clothing. We are very happy with this. Clothing that is donated gets a very nice final destination with us. We save donated clothing to make clothing packages. We give these packages to women who, due to various circumstances, do not have the opportunity to buy clothing.

Dress code & conditions

Unfortunately, we cannot simply take in all clothing. We prefer brand clothing. This is because it sells the easiest and is currently in the greatest demand. We are currently taking in:

• Women's clothing, shoes and accessories in sizes XXS to 6XL.
• Men's clothing and shoes in sizes XS to 5XL.
• Washed and fresh smelling clothing without damage. Think of no missing buttons, pulls and holes. Clothing with smoke and pet hair and/or smell, we do not accept.
• -Clothing appropriate to the season. Keep an eye on our homepage for the announcement of the new season's input.
• No underwear and/or swimwear.
• No clothing from the following brands: Shein, Bershka, H&M, Only, Hema, Primark, New Yorker, C&A, Jola Mode, Stradivarius etc. This is not because these clothes are 'not good' but because we would otherwise receive too much in our store. Experience has also shown that clothing from these brands hardly sells in our store.
• Please note, we no longer accept summer clothes!

You have read our clothing requirements and want to come and sell your old clothes in our shop? Yes! Mega fun! Some final information;

Second hand by Things is not liable for disappointing sales figures if the products are not sold in the store and webshop.

If the clothing is not collected within one week after the agreed collection date, we will donate the clothing to charity.

Do you choose to send your clothing? The shipping/return costs are always for the consignor. We are not liable for lost packages by a postal carrier.

Your proceeds will be paid out at the end of the period. Example: we have a pick-up appointment scheduled for 20-05-2024. You come to pick up your clothes and sign the payout list. The payout will be included on the last day of the month in which the payout list is signed.

No payment will be made if the items have not been collected/donated or the list has not been signed.
